About This Chapter
The narrator introduces us to a new character, the son of a duke. He introduces himself as "ceyijune kairam" , or "the second son" . He tells us that when he first met the duke, he was very excited to meet him, but that the duke rejected his kindness and favor with perfect manners. When he was 18 years old, at his father's command, he met him again, but this time he was even colder. The duke's name was "ice duke" and the narrator assumes that he is just cold. The engagement ceremony for the duke and the nobleman went off without a hitch, since the duke didn't seem to show any emotion. He gave the duke the "dragon's ring" as a gift, and the two of them pledged to be married. The narrator is shocked to find out that this nobleman is actually the second son, and that he's wearing a suit for the very first time. He asks the customer if he thinks the duke is from the oil rich country. The customer says that he doesn't need the clothes, since he'll be returning to his own world. He then asks the narrator to wrap the suit and move it into an invisible, intangible space. This must be magic, the narrator says, because he hates sorcerers.
