About This Chapter
In the middle of his tantrum, Huck finds himself alone with Mr. Liu. Huck tells him that he's sorry that he keeps apologizing to him, and that he should just get better and stop apologizing. Huck says that he doesn't want to be like his brother, who is charming in class, and who likes to eat. He says that his heart is beating too fast, and he bit him hard, because he deserved it. Huck wants to know why he can't just eat the next bite of food when he finishes this one. He wants to mark it as his own, and not just his brother's. Huck asks if he can eat the porridge, and apologizes for interrupting the group. Huck knows that the group will hate him if he stays like this, but he wants to make sure that they don't. He tells them that if they ignore him, he'll get better.
