About This Chapter
In this second part of the story, we learn that the gang has agreed to stay in the cold house for the summer. They're also going to be back in the winter, so they'll have a place to stay as well. The guys are bummed that they're not going to get to go back to the station, but they've got a deal: they can stay there as long as they want. They don't want to leave, though, because they know it's their home. They want to know where the general is, but he's not there yet. They can't find him, either, because his sword is missing. They have one more thing to worry about: the liquid engineering lab doesn't have anything to do with it. The only thing that's left is the death ferry, which is leaving tonight. The captain of the ferry tells the gang that there are a lot of bodies on the ship, and that they should all be buried on the same day. They should all go to the funeral house, but the captain says they should wait until the next company shows up. He's got a plan: he'll pay the captain to fire up the engines of the funeral ferry, and then he can go to work.
