About This Chapter
This chapter opens with a soliloquy in which Dr. Bledsoe laments the fact that his son has been taken captive by the witches. He says that he is determined to avenge his son's abduction, and that he will find a way to do so. He tells the girls that they should come to his house and play a game of hide-and-seek with the young man, who will soon forget that he has been kidnapped. He also tells them that they will find an "obscene crystal" for him, which will allow them to use it to trap the witches and their weapons. He then tells them to hook up to a system that will trace the signal from his son back to him. He explains that the only reason they recognize themselves is because of a "dumb, hairy beast" . He adds that they must first free one of the witches' most trusted allies and their chief spy, and then they must free arach from the other side of the room so that they can use the signal to trap them. They then need to free the arach and the spy, but first, they need to get rid of the other witches.
