Alek tells the girls that a red horse has gone out, and the rider on it has engraved his mistakes on the horse's sword. Alek tells them that they can turn the horses back, but that they need to send someone to control the situation. They need to stop the Jacks from running the city, Alek says, because if they do, they'll kill thousands. He tells them to stop oppressing the poor, and to stop being so violent. They're not meant to be, he says, and they should stop being violent. He says he'll stop killing them if something happens, but he won't do it if they're just like the guy who talked to the girls.
