In this short scene, Ren-Xie's teacher, Shu-Liang, tells the boy that he has not seen his brother smile in a long time. He tells him that he is still calling his name "deep in my heart" and that he was the one that should have been sorry on that day. He says that he cannot believe that his teacher is just a "pet of my teacher" . He adds that he used his magic to pacify the curse mark on Shu-Ling's father, but that it is still stirring in the boy's heart. He wonders if the magic lock is open or if the boy is falling asleep.
