About This Chapter
In the courtyard of the palace, the king's envoy tells the general that the king has sent a distinguished guest. The king wants the general to stay and have a drink with him, but the general refuses to leave the courtyard. He tells the envoy that the weather will be cold that night, and the captives will be in danger if they stay outside all night. He says that he will have more men to guard the yard as well, and that if the king refuses to let him in, he will kneel in the courtyard and beg for food and shelter. The general tells him that he has won a great victory over the royal family, but that he was unable to capture them because the city gate had blocked the city for three days. The royal family has a powerful healing method that can revive the dead, and if one can use this method, one can bring back the dead. He asks the general if he is afraid of the king freezing to death, and he replies that he is. He then tells the king that the man who stopped the army that day was just a "scum from yylyao" who dared to insult the king. He orders the man to stand in the snow, as penance, and says that if he can find the man, his majesty is sure to be pleased
