About This Chapter
The god of land tells the spirit snake that he is different from the other gods because he is not a short man with a long beard. He says that time has changed, and that fewer people worship him. The snake says that he has answered his summons and that they are even now. The god tells the snake to keep his mouth shut and that he will see him again. The spirit snake asks if there is something wrong with the god, and the god says that there is. He explains that the god's divine energy is dying out, and he has two options: to help him find the person, or to lose his power and be beaten and killed. He warns the snake that the one who is caught by him will be punished severely. He tells the woman to give him a kiss, and they do so. He asks the woman if she will help him or not, and she tells him that she will. He threatens to kill her if she does not help him, but she says that she has the guts. He beats her up and tells her to go to hell.
