About This Chapter
The next morning, Dean Lockwood tries to convince himself that he's doing the right thing by pretending to be the one who's trying to get into the school's basement. He tells Lockwood that he needs to find a way to get to the basement so that he can talk to the principal. Lockwood says that he doesn't want to be a part of this "trap" , but he can't stop himself from trying. He asks Lockwood if he can still find his way into the basement, and Lockwood tells him that it's a good idea. Lockwood then tells Lockwood to stop trying to trap him, because the evil spirit is spreading outside the school. Lockwood tells the dean that the school has given the principal permission to stay at the school, but that the principal is still trying to "mess" with the students. Lockwood realizes that his "ordinary and wonderful" campus life is about to come to an end.
