About This Chapter
"Pedestrians only" is the title of the third and final episode of the series. It opens with a conversation between a student named Kiyoshi and his friend, sempai. Kiyoshi tells his friend that he's staying at his friend's house for the night so that he can visit his family during the summer vacation. He tells Kiyoshi that he doesn't want to kiss him, but he does want to talk to him about his feelings for his friend. He also tells him that Kiyoshi's friend, a girl named Mami, is also staying at the house and Kiyoshi hopes that she'll be there as well. When Kiyoshi asks what he should do, Kiyoshi replies that he should check out the shoes that Mizukawa has brought for him. He then asks Kiyoshi about his shirt, which shows that he has a nape on his neck, and he also mentions that he knows how well his shirt is made, which makes Kiyoshi like him even more. He says that every little thing Kiyoshi has taught him makes him like him more, and that's why he loves him so much. He wonders why Kiyoshi always has to overreact to the things that make him happy, like the candy he bought, or the clothes that show his nape, or even the fact that he bought a cola lollipop, which reminds him of the future. He wants to ask Kiyoshi what makes his friend happy, but Kiyoshi says that they can't really know, because they don't even know what makes him happy or angry. They can do their best, he says, but they still might fail, because the other person might not like the heat, or they might be angry, or both. He gives Kiyoshi some sweets
