The chapter opens with a conversation between Hiroshi and Hiroshi's parrot, Doc. Hiroshi tells Hiroshi that he's in love with a girl named ninon, and he wants to see her. He wants to know what's going on with her, because she's on her 15th birthday, which happens to be the same day that Hiroshi has his own birthday. When Hiroshi asks what he should get her for her birthday, Hiroshi says he'll buy her a cake and some food. He also tells her that he loves her more than ever, and that he doesn't want to get into a fight with Hiroshi. He's worried that she'll make a move on Hiroshi if she tries to push him away. He tells her not to worry, though, because Hiroshi won't be able to get away with it.
