About This Chapter
The next morning, Sawazaki wakes up in the middle of the night. He's not sure what's going on, but he's pretty sure it's because of his encounter with Kishida. He doesn't want to wake her up, though, because he thinks she's cute. He tells her he'll send her on her way, and she'll be fine. He also tells her that he'd be a lot more comfortable if he didn't have to spy on her, since she'd probably be the next one to be killed. He asks why he needs to stay in the division of the conspirators, since they're planning to kill him. She tells him that she wants to set the people free from their "cursed fates," and that's why she wants them to be able to do so. She also tells him he'm not living a "devil's life," since he're not trying to live with them. He says that he feels sorry for them, and that he wants to "set them free" from their fates. He wants to save them from the fates they've been forced to live in. He points out that everyone in the room is just like him, except for Kishida, who's transformed into a completely different person. The bullet that hit him in the stomach stopped the bullet, and he thanks her for saving his life. He wishes everyone else were like him and would just get out of the way and let Kishida do his thing.
