About This Chapter
This chapter's epigraph comes from a poem by the famous poet . In this poem, the poet laments the fact that the imperial families, including the monarchs, have come to the herb hall to seek out the "devil" . He laments that he and his friend, the alchemist , have been forced to return to the land of the patriarchs because they are the only ones who have suffered the most from the "curses" of the family patriarchs. The two of them, however, are not so sure about this. . They urge the exiled patriarchs to leave immediately. They are confident that they will be able to defeat the monarchist patriarchs once they are out of the "herb hall." .
