About This Chapter
Now that he's beaten the poison king, Alek realizes that he has to decide which alchemist should win the next round. He decides to go with the guy who's making the best alchemist's elixir, which he calls the "dragon's call" . He's not sure how to judge whether or not he should give the elixir to the "poison king" , but he knows that the other alchemists are going to have a problem, too. Alek asks if he can explain to everyone what happened to the elixir. First, he tells us that the alchemist who made the elixir was using an ancient technique that's been lost for a long time, called "Dragon's Call." This is the same technique that the "ancient alchemist" used when he was a kid. The "ancient alchemical technique" was so good that even the "arrogant poison king" admitted that he lost the round. Alek then goes on to say that even though the "top-class elixirs" can only give "half of its materials' efficacy," they can't compete with the ancient technique because it's so good. This is why Alek feels a little bit regret when he suggests that you open the bottle of the elixir and cut it open. Alek says that he wants to kneel down and beg the guy to open it, but the guy doesn't seem to want to do that. He just wants to "play" with Alek.
