About This Chapter
For sixteen years, the narrator has never made any friends. He thinks that it's better to be alone than to have anyone around who owes you anything. He tells us that he's been hanging out with Asami and Tachibana all the time, and he thinks that they have something in common: they're both "weird" and "mean" at school. He also says that he likes big boobs, too, and that he thinks yamato is "kind of a loner" because he'll defend anyone who's a troublemaker. The narrator says that if he keeps getting hurt, he worries that she's his girlfriend and that she won't be able to get along with him. He worries that if she keeps making fun of him, she'll make things worse for herself. He's worried about his own skin, and worries about how he will act if he doesn't act cool. He says that sometimes, people just act cool because they have too much on their minds and they don't want to be bothered by people who are nice to them.
