About This Chapter
This chapter opens with a flashback to the beginning of the story. It is the time when dale was still a novice knight. He was chased by a monster into the forest. dale says that the monster was on the verge of losing his mind and body, but dale protected him with his armor and hid him in the forest so that he wouldn't be able to see the monster. He tells dale that he gave his armor to the monster, and that he hid him because dale wanted him to be safe. The monster attacks dale, and dale tries to stop him, but he is struck by the monster and falls to the ground. When dale regains consciousness, he realizes that he is not the only one who has been attacked. He realizes that dale has been transformed into a demon, and he asks dale if he believes that humans can be transformed into him. He says that he does not believe that humans are capable of being turned into demons, but that they are able to do so when they really want to.
