About This Chapter
The next morning, the two men discuss the events of the previous night. They decide to go after the company's leader, but they're interrupted by the sound of gunfire. The two men decide to take cover in a nearby field, but the noise of gunfire makes them think that they've been ambushed. They hide in the bushes, and the sounds of gunfire make them wonder if they have been hit by enemy fire. They're about to run away when they hear the gunfire again, and they realize that it's just a tap. They don't realize that the bullet that hit them was actually a ricochet, and that they were hit by the enemy's bullets. They realize that they can't just run away from the fight, because they'll have to fight the entire company. The men decide that they need to go back to the fields to find a conehead, because the field isn't safe for them to be.
