So this is a surprise non-con. This is an odd one. I came here directly from Resist Me More (which is pretty toxic by design, spiteful narcissist type and a top with a non-con fetish) and thought this would be lighter fare, only to be surprised by how much non-con was in this. This story just has non-con that is just accepted by the characters and brushed past with no further examination. The characters are pretty one-note and not particularly likable, one nervous and duller than a brick and the other whose only real characterization is as an obsessive psycho. Their relationship before the misunderstanding seemed cute. Overall it’s just meh with a coating of unaddressed toxicity. It might be that I just hate the way they justify the non-con (the victim is just with being molested in his sleep, and AcTuAlLy ThE vIcTiM hAs ThE mOsT cOnTrOl because… IDK he locks the problem psycho up with BDSM gear because of another misunderstanding. He’s the dumbest of the dumb but he does mean well I suppose.) I’ve written a review or two on bad non-con works before because I think deserve fair warning about them, but I feel I should write a review on a decent one. There can be good non-con (subjectively of course, and it’s such a common trigger I don’t generally recommend them), this is just dull.
