The narrator tells us that the town is remote, and that it used to be a "tough guy gang" that protected the town from foreign invaders. Now, he says, the town needs to become a "swooper gang" to protect the town once again. The narrator points out that all the guns in the town are "pump action shotguns" , which are "effective melee weapon" . He says that he got the guns when he snuck into the "Odyssey society" the night before. He explains that the society has been receiving and distributing smuggled goods, turning the town into an "outlaw gathering point". The narrator says that they have to defend the town.
