The young man was taken there by the president, and the driver was instructed to take him there. The driver tells the narrator that the president had told him that he should take him to a place where he would be treated well and would be given expensive food. When the driver arrives at the place, he finds the president waiting for him. He asks where the president is, and she tells him to go through the door and see who is in the room. When they arrive at the room, the driver finds that the makeup artist is waiting for them. The makeup artist tells the driver that he has just completed his work and is ready to begin his work. He tells him that the girl is beautiful, and that it is always exciting for him to style someone beautiful as she is. The narrator feels that he is being complimented, but he is not sure why. He is confused, because he had just gotten his makeup done and is now in the clothes he has been ordered to wear. He wonders why the president has ordered all this, and he is happy to see him.
