About This Chapter
The Governess tells Henry that he is like a "mother" to her, and that she wants him to go to school, too. Henry tells her that he doesn't need to worry, because he's "fine" and that he'll "do everything for you" . He tells her to "just stay like this" and not to share what's happening with her until tomorrow, when he can tell her more about it. Henry says that he has to find him first, otherwise he won't be "sorry to the kids" , and then he tells the Governess to calm down. He says he couldn't possibly have gone back to America, trudged or created a "cause for worry" like he did when he left. Henry admits that he should have stayed up to look after him the last time he was there, and he says he should've written a more detailed letter. He apologizes, and says he was going to ask for his forgiveness, but now he wants to tell him about his parents. Henry asks if it's possible that he came to America from a "rich family," or if he came from "some kind of male escort"? Henry says, "it's nice" to see something "pretty" before he dies. He's going to "film everything" as he dies
