Do-oh-l-my-friend tells us that he's never forgotten the days when he was "shining bright" . He says that even though he was abandoned, he couldn't bring himself to do what he would have done if he were in a "bottomless pit" , because that would be a waste of his life. He also says that the cycle of life is so short that it seems like it's going to be boring for a long time to come. But, he says, to have something worth protecting is a blessing, and to lose it all is devastating. He tells Do-Oh-L-My-Friend that he was in the middle of recovering from the battles of the past when he met him. He had met him because he was the same age as him, and so he was able to feel love for him. It's his fault that he didn't leave earlier, because he stayed close to her because she was stronger than he is.
