About This Chapter
The narrator tells us that the last time she saw her maternal grandmother was when she was on vacation in her birth island with her friends. She asks why she came all the way there when her legs were uncomfortable. She tells the narrator that she thinks it's a miracle that people from far away can become one another's "precious person" . The narrator says he can't believe it. He tries to open his eyes to check if what she's saying is true, but he always fails. He asks her to give him back the ring he gave her on her 70th birthday, the first present she got from her dead grandpa. He tells her that if she doesn't give him the ring, he'll get married. He also tells her to take her to the island country of Jeju, where she'll find a warm climate all year round
