About This Chapter
The narrator tells us that he's moving out of the city, but he'll still come to the station if he has any worries. He's not worried about the marriage of Silas and Miriam, he says, because he doesn't think he'd want to imagine anything like that happening. The station is in trouble. The afternoon anchor has disappeared, and the station can't find a way to keep the station on the air. The narrator is glad that they're able to meet again, because it would be nice to know the reason for the people's disappearances. He says that he couldn't go to college because he didn't have the money to go to school, and that he has something important to say to the narrator before he dies.
