The scene shifts to Hiroshi's apartment, where Hiroshi and the other students discuss the upcoming piano competition. Hiroshi tells the others that the piano player, Uematsu, has grown into a man of greater height than he is, and that he is trying to take over the competition. The other students agree with him, and they begin to argue about who is the better player. The piano teacher, however, is determined to continue the competition, and he and his students begin to fight.
