About This Chapter
In this chapter, we learn that the goal of the army is to incite fear among the citizens of the empire. This is why they've brought the giant tank in the first place. They want to make the enemy think that they're invincible and that they can do anything they want to them. They're also trying to make them think that the empire is in danger of being overrun by the enemy's troops. The army doesn't have a choice, says the colonel, but to attack the enemy and not destroy it would be a waste of time, energy, and money. The only way to do this, he says, is to engage the enemy in a battle and kill as many of them as possible.
