The next day, we learn that Tank 901 was the one who destroyed the "turret tank prototype" that Alek designed. Alek's father, Alek, was the father of the first tank, but he was never told about it, and the war was won on the theory that Alek wrote about it in his journal. This is a big deal, because Alek is the inventor of the tank, and it's his job to make the next one better. Alek tells us that they're ready for battle, but that he's not sure how they'll do it. They're going to have to use flares to confuse the enemy, but Alek reminds us that the best way to do that is to use anti-tank weapons.
