In this chapter, we learn that Clymby is in love with Eun-Hyun, whom he calls "a sweet tempered girl" . He tells her that he has come to love her because she is "such a curious girl" and because she has grown to be "quite the fine man" , and that she has been living on her own. He asks her if she would like to wash her back for him, and she says that she would, but that she does not want to "blame" him if it gets her in the mood. She tells him that she will sleep with him on his futon, and he agrees. She asks him if he would like her to wash his back for her, but he says that he would give her a special peek. He says he will give her "a special peek" and they will lie down on the bed together, and when they are alone, he will whisper to her that they should whisper to each other to come on they are almost there. She agrees, and they go to sleep.
