The two men discuss the possibility of expulsion from the university, but Otosuka points out that such an action would only serve to further alienate the students. He also suggests that they give the expelled students indefinite suspensions, which he believes would only further alienate them. The chapter ends with the two men discussing the vice-president, who is rumored to be a drug lord. The men agree that he is a good man, and that he has saved the university before. The vice president, they agree, is a "really cool, sweet guy" who is also good-looking. They discuss the vice president's "gay" status, and Otosays that he will have someone bring tea for them. He tells Oto that he does not appreciate Oto's comments about him, as he has always acted according to his own wishes. He says that he wonders if he has been the type of man who acts according to the wishes of his mentors, as if he were a good boy. The conversation turns to the tea, and the two realize that they have exchanged neckties. They decide to take off the neckties, but when they do, Oto exclaims that they are "brazen" and should be "more careful swishing who cares."
