About This Chapter
The battle continues, and Ten-Kun and his mother-in-law are exhausted. They've been fighting for a while, and now they're tired. They ask each other to take a breather. Ten says he's tired, and Mom-o-sensei says she'll take a nap. They talk about the demon shooting range, which is basically a Japanese place where people shoot at demons to ward off evil. They also talk about how the people of the town have defeated missionaries before, and how that's the reason they all love each other. They all agree that it's a good thing that the travelers have come to the town looking for lodging. Ten is shocked that they've escaped, and he wonders what would happen if they didn't make it out alive. He's also shocked that she's so self-conscious about fighting for the town. She's just like him, he says, and she'd give her life to protect the town if she had to. He says he won't fail this time, and that he'll be stronger than ever. He also says that the battle is going so well that Tsune-san and her men are wasting their time fighting. He wants to see how she responds to his preaching move. He flashes a silver fencing there, and the battle's over. He asks if Ten is okay, and asks if he'd like to perform a "seppuku" ceremony with dignity. He doesn't care if you think this is a good idea.
