In this chapter, we learn that the two women have been drinking excessively, and that they're worried that the man they've been hanging out with is the same man they saw at the train station. The women try to calm them down, but they can't seem to get their nerves under control. Finally, they ask each other what's bothering them, and the women tell each other that they don't know. They're not really sure what to make of the situation, but the women manage to keep their wits about them. They all agree that it's time to get back to the business of running the inn.
