The chapter opens with Hirokazu's reaction to the news of the attack. He says that he cannot bear the thought of what will happen to him now, and that he has already left. He tells Mina that he will not be able to stop the attack, because the infected are no match for the rifle fire of the enemy. He also tells her that he is part of something that is doing the same thing as the United States, and he does not want to be a part of an organization that is killing people. Mina apologizes for causing the situation, but she is still afraid that the attack will kill her. She says that she is sorry for causing it, and she is glad that they have a chance to talk. She tells him that she has always wanted to kill him, even when he tried to protect her, and now that he wants to kill her, she will have to stay with him.
