Act Five opens with the arrival of a new member of the royal family, the crown prince. He introduces himself as "Ya Le," or "Young Master," and asks the grand master to accept the young woman as his disciple. The young woman tells the prince that she admires the master's deeds and wishes to learn from him. The prince accepts her as a disciple, and the two young women begin to teach her.
