About This Chapter
The narrator tells us that there are two kinds of volunteer fire fighters in Japan: the ones who work for the government and the ones that volunteer for the local fire department. The narrator then goes on to tell us that he found the movie he wanted to see in the bed where he was sleeping. He asks the narrator to go with him to the theater after the movie. He tells the narrator that the theater has seats for two people and that there is a hot roasted green tea waiting for them. He says that the popcorn is almost gone and that the movie is about to start. He reminds the narrator of the time he took her to the movies to thank him for taking her there as a thank you for the theater. She says that she doesn't like the movie and that she would rather not hear about it. She tells him that she is overreacting to the fact that she saw him the other day and that he asked her if she would like to become a doctor. She reminds him that someone else asked her that before and she says that if she does, she could work with them all.
