About This Chapter
Back in fairyland, the Governess tells the girl that she's not sleeping well. She tells her that she has an appointment with a serpent. The Governess is all, "oh, holy dark one" , and asks the girl not to get too angry with her, because she remembers the deal they made when they broke up. She says that she can't tell the girl when she can expect it, but she can tell her that it's always a pleasure to be able to do so. She also says that all of the fairyland archives are stored in a giant box, and that they're filled with documents, insurance papers, personal files, and so on. She welcomes the new courier, a man named Bill, who's on his way to speak to a manager at the local branch of the postal service. The man wants to talk to the manager about a special delivery he's made, and the manager, hank, says he'll be glad to help him. He tells the man to bring the package to him, and then he says that he has a message for the girl: "be a dear and come it to me" . He says that fairyland is full of magic and wonder, but that there's one thing that needs to be fulfilled: "What's that? what everything needs?" , he says. He adds that Bill is not completely wrong, though, and says that they need to "breathe a little life" into the girl.
