In this short scene, Desdemona scolds Gertrude for her rudeness at breakfast. She scolds her for being so rude to her mother and for being a "growing girl" who can't be sent off to school "on an empty stomach" . She tells her to stop being a silly girl and to eat instead of being rude to the school. She says she'll show her how badly she's been hurt.
