About This Chapter
This chapter opens with a flashback to the previous chapter, in which the narrator explains that this is the first time he has ever seen a paper with a picture of a man in it. The man is the younger brother of the Emperor's Chief Advisor, and the sixth son of the court offi. The narrator tells us that the man has a unique birth, and that he was brought up by a "chief modern guy" . This is a reference to the Chief Modern guy, who is a member of the royal court and is considered to be the most powerful man in the world. The flashback also shows that the narrator is in the middle of drawing a picture when the man in question falls to the ground and faints. The Master immediately rushes to the Doctor and tells him what has happened.
