Mr. Roberts laments that he has been slapped in the face by someone and wonders why he has not been able to get out of his predicament. He feels that he is finally getting to "rest" and is relieved to see his parents. He tells his wife that he was nervous when they arrived in the rain, but now he feels "relieved" . He asks her if she is tired, and she replies that she is, but that she will not do it by herself. She tells him that she has come to the house of her son's family. She asks him if he will tell her to stop, and he replies that he will.
