About This Chapter
In this chapter, the narrator laments the woes of youth. He feels lonely and alone. He wonders how Mina is doing, and wonders if he is putting on some clothes for the role he is about to play. He also wonders if Mina is picky about his clothes. Mina replies that she is wearing all black, and that the train will arrive at the station one platform shortly. The narrator is sorry that his short story has been cut from the book, but he can't do anything about it because the other authors have already published theirs. He thinks that Mina's story will sell like crazy, because it is about a girl who is 15 years old and has a crush on a boy. He doesn't think that Mina will be able to play the part of a girl in the novel, because she is too young to be a boy's friend, and because she has never kissed anyone before. He asks Mina if she would like to do a scene like this, and she says that she would love to try it. He says that he is in love with her.
