It's been a while since we've seen Hiroshi, and now he's back. He's got a new step-brother, Natsuo, who's only six years older than Hiroshi. Hiroshi is a little worried about the fact that his stepbrother is younger than him, but he reassures him that he'll be fine. He also tells Hiroshi that she's always been a good girl, and that he should keep writing novels. We learn that Hiroshi has a crush on a girl named Kiriya, but she doesn't seem to be having a good time. She's also a little jealous of her stepbrother's crush on Kiriya. She asks Hiroshi how he managed to hate Kiriya so much after Kiriya turned him down, and he tells her that she was so angry because she thought Kiriya had abandoned her. He tells her not to tell him that Kiriya is trying to get back at her, and Hiroshi tells him to chill out. They go for a walk.
