This chapter opens on a ship in the middle of the ocean. It's the sun jewel, which is a symbol of wealth. The ship's captain, Weizs, is talking to the girls about a new weapon that he's been working on. He says that he should have finished the weapon before they got to the jewel, but thanks to the meddling of the old man, he has to stay on the ship and help the girls finish the weapon. He's also worried about the girls' safety, since he doesn't trust the old guy. He decides to go to his mentor, Valkyrie, and ask him to help him finish the new weapon.
