About This Chapter
It's been a while since we've seen the future, and now that we do, we're reminded of it. We're not sure what the future holds, but we do know that it's a lot like the present: "slow airfoot as o'os" , says the narrator. He's referring to the fact that we can't see where the future is going, and that's why he's so excited to see it. The narrator asks the audience if they can still see the "future" in the present, and the answer is "no" . He says that the future isn't there yet, but that it is "being put together anew" every single second. He tells the audience that even though they can see the past, they cannot see the future. He asks them to deny who they've been, and he tells them that if they believe in something, they have to fight for it. He reminds them that he looks up to them, and if they don't believe in anything, he has to defend it. So, if they're going to fight, he says, then they must fight for something. He compares himself to a "thorn regala" : "all of your clothing is the regala . . meaning all of your clothes are eternal . if even you can see where it is, it means you can go anywhere." The narrator says that he'll admit this: "it's up to him."
