In this chapter, Roxane laments the fact that she is the victim of a "black temptress" who masquerades as her lover and friend. She tells Roxane that she was under the spell of the temptress long before her intervention. Roxane asks Roxane if she does not love her son, and Roxane replies that she does. She asks him to help her find the girl who has been missing for four days. She also tells him that the girl's name is "virginia applejack" and that she has been raped by her lover, "blonde sim sony" . He tells her that he is not even back on duty, and that he wants to talk to the girl. She says that her lover raped her again last night, calling her "the bitch queen" , and she says that she thought he was about to hurt her, but he did not. He says that the kid may not have been tough enough, but that he may be the only chance they have to find her. He also says that a family friend has hired a private detective to track down "a guy named monster," and that the lieutenant has told them that he has hired the detective to find the monster. He asks the detective if he has the address of the address, and the detective says that he does, and asks if he can get a deal that will not be happening. The detective says he has a number, and he says that they will take the monster down hopefully, one of the "monsters." He then asks if anyone else is in the house, and they all agree to go in.
