Back on his dirt bike, Huck tells the gang that he's grown up and that he recognizes his mom as the one who put him in a coma when he was a kid. Huck tells them that his mom is always trying to get him to a bigger truth, and that she's trying to kill him. Huck says he'll find a way to get his mom to the landing, but first he wants to tell them about the descartes. He's heard that they're going to get all of them killed if they don't leave the landing safely. Huck then tells them about his childhood, when he asked his mom what she wanted him to be when he grew up. She told him he'd be rich, and he says that's exactly what she meant. Huck also says that his dad is dead, so Huck can't be looking for him any longer. Huck goes on to say that he needs something he can handle, so he asks if his friend, the girl, is still alive. He says that she has a name and is "wicked pretty" . Huck compares her to his lifelong friend, chigi, who has been a puppet, a pauper, a pirate, a poet, a pawn, and a king. Huck asks if he can get a million bucks to run away with his friends, and they all laugh at him for thinking he can just get away with it. Huck thanks his friends for being so nice to him, and says that he doesn't choose to be with them anymore. He wants to die with them, but he also wants to save his friends.
