About This Chapter
In this short scene, the Governess and her son discuss the events of the previous night. The Governess tells her son that his mother made him kill his father, baal, and that she made him do all of the evil he has done. She tells him that the great darkness is made by ananke, the same man who made the "mysterious creatures" in the previous chapter. She asks him to take an initiative and kill the family of baal. She also tells him to not waste time in tracking down the "machine" that made the darkness. She warns him that they are the same person and that he will be "played with" and "broken and thrown away". She adds that she needs four heads to make the darkness "immortal no secret". She tells the boy that he could lure them to the location of his choosing, but that he knows too much. He tells her that he is bored with men like her and that if there is no war, they should be at the place of their choosing. He asks her if she would like to see her son again. She replies that she just can'T so, revenge. He says that someone promised him revenge and that they can stop all of this. He adds that the government does not know what has happened yet, as much as they go together, and end the evil as they may mean. He wonders why the footage of Laura killing it has gone midnight. She will be ready and waiting for them with "god knows what". He wishes he had been better sooner.
