About This Chapter
In this chapter, the Underground Man delivers a long monologue in which he laments the death of the Morrigan. He compares the murder to a "wicked waage issue" breaking into the "underground" for the chance to see the "morrigan live" . The Underground Man says that "baphomet" is a "serious intellectual" capable of cultural "ultimate decapitation" , and that "little badb" is the "littlest of all." He says that shinbone is more useful to "badb" than candle-skinning, but that "inch is not enough" for "cascading cunted" badb. He laments that everyone else in the underground is dead unless they come and join him. He asks the interviewer where his ideas come from, and the interviewer says that he tilts his head just so to say that he never knew her. He says, "Alas . .poor morrigan" and if bad b is not there, maybe the "king was right" to play with a "absence throne." He adds that killing you is "too quick a thing" and that everyone is going to die. He tells the interviewer that he would never have heard someone scream like that and that he had never seen anyone cry like that. He then says that the cops finally "eurt up" and stay down and that the "fuck" is just sleeping. He goes on and on about how he wishes that the scene were over so that he could be "grounded" and be out of the way. He wonders if the judge was killed by hugs to his "knees" and wonders if he had been killed by his "type muscles" on a man. He concludes that the case of a "cult" with "evidence of child sacrifice" is rare.
