Back at home, Ani asks her teacher, Viola, if she saw the giant skeleton the night before. Viola tells her that it was smashed to pieces. Ani asks Viola's mom, Rorilane, to come and meet her. She tells her mom that she'll protect her daughter from lightning, hail, and other weather. Ani says she loves her mom so much that she doesn't want to go out. She says she's leaving a note for her mom saying that they'll meet up in the sunshine city. She's not worried about the weather, she says, but she does want to protect Viola from lightning and hail. Ani tells Viola that she wants to meet up with her mom, but Viola says she can't go out because she smells the creatures. Ani is worried that the smell of the creatures is making Viola look so pretty. She asks her mom why she brought her there, and she apologizes for the deception.
