About This Chapter
The leader of the frozen forest grass tribe, Barossa, has come to thank the leader for saving his life. The leader apologizes for not having seen him earlier. He tells Barossa that his tribe has always valued life and that he will save those who are in danger. Barossa asks the leader if he can provide him with a stable supply of food. The elder refuses, saying that he is an ordinary person and that his life matters more than his money. He asks the elder if there is something of concern, but the elder says that he has come from afar and that it would be dangerous if he met unkind people. He says that although Barossa is simple, she has good skills and that the leader must want him to take her into the human empire. He promises to wait for her if she comes along. He gives the elder his dagger as a gift.
