About This Chapter
Everyone is worried about the light shield, which seems to be protecting them from the storm. They have to go back to the Five-Color altar first. The light shield is thinner and thinner, which means that they will all die if they don't return to the altar. The five-color altar is the same as the one on Mount Tai, which is connected to the earth by an ancient road. This means that a god has opened an ancient, time-traveling road, which connects the earth to the heavens. If they go to the five- color altar, they'll still have time to open the ancient road and leave the earth. Everyone is afraid that they've run out of time, and they're looking forward to opening the gate to the sky again. The fan points out that those who died were empty handed, which casts a shadow over the people who didn't get any artifacts. Everyone wants to share the artifacts with the other buddhists, and the fan suggests that they do so. He also points out a skull that he saw when he was walking. It's a small hole in the skull, and it's the same kind of death that killed the guy earlier. Everyone returns to the 5 - color altar and the coffin is still there, along with the nine dragons' remains. The shield shrinks even more, and only covers the five color altar. Everyone swears that if they fall outside, they will be sucked into the sky.
