About This Chapter
Welcome to the International Capital. It's been a long time since we've seen you, and now that you're back in China, it's time for you to show off your new-found independence. You know, the kind of independence that comes with being a woman in China. We're not sure what that means, but we're guessing it means that you don't like being in the public spotlight, so we'll just call it that. You've got to admit, this is kind of a weird time to be in China - you've just arrived, and you'd better get used to being in public all the time. Yay! You're so cute, right? We'll call you "little qiao" , because she's just as cute as the rest of us. She's wearing high-heeled shoes, and she doesn't seem to know what to do with them. She asks him if he's her boyfriend, and he tells her that little Qiao often mentioned her to him, but they never got a chance to see each other. They've booked a restaurant, but first, they'd like to get her to give them her own pair of shoes. She says that she saw her go out in heels the other day, so he brought her a pair and put them into the car to take her to the airport. He's super nice to her, and says that he'll come back tomorrow to pick her up at the airport and take her back to the hotel. He also thanks her for being kind to her when he wasn't around for so long, and asks her if she'd mind taking a bath with him
